DGIF News- Human Resources-Q1 2020

Welcome to HR 2.0 (or HR 2020).  The Human Resource Team has experienced many changes over the last six months and I thought this would be a good time to reintroduce the team.  As many of you know, Mereme Martin and Linda Thorp retired January 1, 2020, which left two Human Resource Generalist positions vacant.  With almost 80 years of experience between the two of them, they left very big shoes to fill.  The team is happy for both of them and hope that they are enjoying their well-earned retirement.

To improve workflow coordination, the Human Resource Team is now divided into two functions – Administrative and Operations.  The Administrative function handles Classification & Compensation, EEOC, Employee Engagement, Grievances, Human Resource Policy, and Recruitment & Retention to name just a few.  The Administrative Team reports to me, Rebecca Lane, Human Resource Director, and consists of:

  • William “Bill” Brenzovich, Human Resource Special Project(s) Consultant
  • Lisa Fore, Human Resource Assistant
  • Raymond “Ray” Hudgins, Recruitment and Employee Engagement Generalist
  • Christian Spencer, Human Resource Coordinator

The Operations function handles Employee ADA Requests, Employee Benefits, COBRA, FMLA, Human Resource IT Transactions, New Employee Orientation (NEO) and other Human Resource operations related activities.  Operations will generally be an employee’s first point of contact.  The Operations Team reports to Lester Brantley, Assistant Human Resource Director and consists of:

  • Josue Rodriguez, Human Resource Generalist

(Assigned Divisions:  Law Enforcement and Planning & Finance)

  • Deanna Wood, Human Resource Generalist

(Assigned Divisions:  Administration, Outreach and Wildlife Resources)

As always, the entire team is available to assist any employee with their Human Resource needs.  We are excited to see what 2020 has in store for the agency and our customers.
