The Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources (DWR) is appreciative of the role that permittees and partners play in helping to manage wildlife for the benefit of all Virginia citizens. The mission of the DWR, which is to conserve, connect, and protect wildlife, guides the development of all DWR permits and is shared by all individuals whose official job duties involve interactions with wildlife. The DWR consequently updates permit conditions and guidance documents to reflect best management practices in response to emerging issues, such as new disease detections. Please see the various documents below for the most up-to-date information developed in response to emerging issues. Thank you for doing your part to keep Virginia’s wildlife populations healthy by staying up-to-date on permit changes and recommended best management practices.
