Join DWR for a Presentation on the Lake Shenandoah Dam Replacement Plan
Richmond, VA — The Lake Shenandoah Dam has provided recreation opportunities for Harrisonburg area residents for nearly 70 years. Due to its age, it is now time to talk about a replacement plan to ensure the safety of surrounding residents and continued recreational opportunities around the lake. Join the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources Capital Programs team for a review of current dam challenges and the plan to reconstruct it, including timelines and user impacts.

The Lake Shenandoah Dam was originally constructed in 1956. The lake itself is a 36-acre impoundment providing outdoor experiences within an urban setting.
