Protect Virginia’s Natural Resources, Residents, and Visitors: Become a DWR Conservation Police Officer
Richmond, VA — The Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources (DWR) is now taking applications for the 14th Conservation Police Training Academy. Applications are being accepted through mid-September.
On any given day, DWR Conservation Police Officers are outdoors protecting Virginians, including hunters, anglers, boaters, wildlife watchers, and any visitor recreating in the Commonwealth. No day is the same, but every day is eventful. If you have a passion for wildlife, fisheries, and supporting Virginia outdoorsmen and women, consider becoming a Conservation Police Officer.
- Starting pay is $52,530 with a 10% pay increase after completing the probationary period.
- $2,000 bonus for current Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services Certified Law Enforcement Officers.
- Virginia Conservation Police has a comprehensive Career Progression Program.
- 14th Conservation Police Training Academy is expected to start in March 2025 and graduation will occur in October of 2025.
