Public Comment Period Opens on Proposed Regulations Regarding Hunting with Hounds
Richmond, VA — The Board of Wildlife Resources’ public comment period for regulations related to hunting with hounds will open on Wednesday, May 22 and close on Friday, July 5, 2024.
Hunters, landowners, and any other interested individuals are encouraged to review the proposed regulations and offer comment beginning May 22 at: https://dgifwebtest.gooutdoorsvirginia.com/about/public-comment-opportunities/
While the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources (DWR) online comment system is the most efficient and effective way to submit your views, individuals may also submit comments by email at [email protected] or mail them to the department.

Comments must be in writing and accompanied by the name, address, and telephone number of the party offering them. Comments submitted by means other than the online comment system must be received no later than 4 p.m., July 5, 2024.

Please Note:
Any action on the proposed regulations will come at a future meeting of the Board following the close of the public comment period and the consideration of public comments. There is no action on the hunting with hounds topic on the agenda for the Board’s regularly scheduled meeting on May 23.
