Upcoming Stockings for Clinch Mountain & Crooked Creek Fee Fishing Areas Have Been Cancelled

Richmond, VA — Due to expected inclement weather from the remnants of Hurricane Helene, two upcoming stocking events for the Fee Fishing Areas located at Clinch Mountain and Crooked Creek have been cancelled. The stockings scheduled for Friday, Sept. 27 and Saturday, Sept. 28 will not take place as planned. The final stocking of the fee fishing season will take place as scheduled on Monday, Sept. 30. The Fee Fishing Areas will remain open to angling through the entire weekend.

A daily permit ($8) is required to fish the fee areas for any person over 12 years of age, in addition to a valid Virginia freshwater fishing license (all children under 16 are exempted from having a fishing license). Daily permits are available at authorized license agents or online at Go Outdoors Virginia. For more information, please visit: dwr.virginia.gov/fishing/trout/fee-fishing-areas.
