2 lb. | apples, peeled, cored and chopped |
¼ lb. | butter or margarine |
2 cup | white sugar |
2 cup | packed brown sugar |
8 oz. | raisins |
5 oz. | currants |
1-½ cup | sweet, fresh cider |
½ cup | apple cider vinegar |
2 teaspoon | salt |
2 teaspoon | nutmeg |
2 teaspoon | ground cloves |
3 teaspoon | cinnamon |
2 teaspoon | mace |
3 tablespoon | brandy |
How to Prepare
Combine all ingredients, except brandy, in a large, deep kettle and boil slowly, uncovered, for 2 hours. After mixture cools , add brandy. Pour mincemeat into jars or plastic containers and freeze until ready to use. (Makes 2 quarts or 2 pies)
