Description
Elevation: 2325 ft.
This boat ramp is towered over by the US-58/US-221 Bridge. The area is heavily wooded with a small creek entering the river along its northern edge. This is an ideal place to drop a canoe into the river for a quiet cruise. The sassafras and yellow poplar trees are teaming with song sparrow and indigo bunting. Further back in the woods, red-eyed vireo can be heard singing along with cardinal and blue jay. Keep looking up periodically for turkey vulture and red-tailed hawk soaring overhead. One never knows when an osprey or bald eagle may fly by!
