Wayside Park

Description

This small park, also known as Dahlgren Wayside Park, with its mowed field and picnic tables, offers a spectacular view of the expansive Potomac River. From the park’s sandy beach, visitors can expect to see osprey, terns, wintering waterfowl, and wading birds feeding in the rich river habitat. Other park wildlife includes songbirds and butterflies.

From I-95 in Richmond/Ashland, continue north. Take exit 104 for SR 207 toward US 301/Carmel Church/Bowling Green. Keep right and follow signs for Bowling Green/Fort AP Hill. Merge onto SR 207 E and continue onto SR 207 Bypass after 9.7 miles. In 1.4 miles, continue onto US 301 N for 29.9 miles. Turn left onto SR 652/Roseland Rd just before the bridge into Maryland and find the park to the left.
