Beaver Creek Reservoir is a 104-acre water supply reservoir that was built in 1964 for the Town of Crozet. Historically, it has provided very good angling for a variety of species including largemouth bass, bluegill, and channel catfish. In addition to the good quality fishing, what draws anglers to the lake are its outstanding seasonal views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the forested shoreline, and the rolling terrain of the piedmont. It’s a great place to take the family because the fish are abundant, the fishing pressure is relatively low, and the views are spectacular.

Largemouth bass
Based on the large number of bass collected during recent surveys, the population appears to be abundant. This is a great place to go if you want to catch lots of bass, but most of them will be in the 10-13-inch range.
Bluegill
Beaver Creek is a great place to take the family for bluegill fishing. The lake is loaded with fish that are relatively easy to catch. A few of the bluegill top 8 inches, which is a great eating size.
Channel catfish
Beaver Creek Reservoir has historically had a great population of channel catfish. This is another feature of this lake that makes it a great place to take the family fishing. Anglers are encouraged to take advantage of this under-utilized resource.
