Wilck’s Lake is a 30-acre lake located in downtown Farmville, within the 150-acre Wilck’s Lake Natural Area. The lake, park, and walking trail are owned and maintained by the Town of Farmville. In addition to fishing the lake, park, and trail provide wildlife viewing opportunities, a skate park, and covered picnic tables. The lake provides fresh water fishing in a safe, family-friendly environment. Wilck’s Lake boasts a quality largemouth bass fishery, as well as fishing opportunities for channel catfish, bluegill, redear sunfish, and black crappie.

Anglers can catch largemouth bass, bluegill, redear sunfish, and channel catfish in Wilck’s Lake. Bank fishing is available around most of the northern edge of the lake, with fishing benches available as well.

A state freshwater fishing license is required for anglers 16 years and older to fish. There is a 5 fish daily bag limit for largemouth bass with a 15-inch minimum length limit. There is an 8 fish daily bag limit on channel catfish with a 15-inch minimum length limit. The daily limit for sunfish is 50 fish in aggregate. The daily limit for crappie is 25 fish. The use of gasoline motors is prohibited on the lake.

A concrete boat ramp is available at the parking area on the eastern end of the lake. Bank access and fishing benches are available around a majority of the northern bank of the lake.
