Wildlife Information and Environmental Services provides information and consultation regarding Virginia’s wildlife and habitats to the public, other state and federal agencies, private consultants, academics, and our conservation partners.
Our environmental programs, publications, online data systems, and staff are available to inform interested parties about Virginia’s wildlife and habitats for the purpose of pursuing wildlife-focused recreation, land-use planning, or completion of environmental assessments that may be necessary to secure local, state, or federal permits for activities that develop the landscape and/or may impact the Commonwealth’s wildlife resources and habitats.
